Coinciding with the beginning of the month of June, the Occidental Puerto Banús Hotel held an opening party this Thursday prior to the arrival of summer. The event was attended by more than 300 guests, including representatives of local, provincial and regional institutions, as well as the tourism sector (related to the hotel industry, catering, tour operators, travel agencies, MICE operators, golf…). The business sector was represented at the event by the main Marbella associations and entrepreneurs and the party was also attended by local, regional and national media, as well as influencers and well-known people from the world of show business.
The afterwork evening took place in the facilities next to the swimming pool which, like the façades of the Occidental Puerto Banús hotel, were decorated with special lighting for the occasion. The party started with a welcome drink at the exit to the terrace and was enlivened by the renowned cellist Cello Femme and a Cyr Wheel (an acrobatic dance on a rotating hoop). The celebration continued with more musical performances, namely a concert by Nacho Lez Band and a session by Kaya DJ. One of the surprises of the night was the acrobatic dance of two artists hanging from the façade of the hotel, imitating Spiderman’s movements.
After the presentation speeches and the projection of the corporate videos of Occidental and Barceló Hotel Group, a cocktail was served with local seafood and local produce, including smoked sardines on brioche bread with EVOO caviar, blue tomato emulsion and black olive soil, ajoblanco with marinated melon and red tuna slice and squid steak burger with wakame aioli.
In addition, there will be several corners with oyster openers, Iberian ham cutters, a cheese flower stand Cheese Flowers, a natural fruit market and an ice cream cart from Nonna Helado Artesanal, as well as a cocktail bar with acrobatic “flair” by Juanjo Montes, several times Spanish champion, and a premium gin and tonic bar. The red and white wine served throughout the event was Peces de Ciudad, a project to create excellent ecological and sustainable wines that donates 100% of the profits to the social work of cancer research.
