In 1999, Roy Peires founded Fundación CLC World (formerly The Smile Foundation), as a conduit for both his and CLC World Resorts & Hotel’s desire to make a difference in local communities.
The main objective of the Foundation is to offer maximum support to groups and individuals in need on the Costa del Sol and Tenerife, and is possible through donations and contributions from partners, customers and employees of CLC World.
To commemorate its 20th Anniversary, the Mijas organisation will celebrate with a Gala event on September 13th at Safari restaurant, located on its popular Costa del Sol resort.
The event will bring together associations from across the province, – local authorities, media, sponsors and collaborators – company representatives, as well as the ambassadors and volunteers of the Foundation.
“Over 20 years Fundación CLC World has made great strides with a single objective: to improve the quality of life for those who need it most,” said its president, Juan Miguel Marcos. “We maintain a close collaboration with different social agents through the donation of food, furniture, clothing, computer equipment and other goods , as well as financial contributions.”
Such is the case with Los Angeles Malagueños de la Noche, Cudeca, Ronald McDonald House, Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Fundatul, the Association of Relatives and People with Mental Illness of the Costa del Sol (AFESOL) and the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients of Mijas, among others.
Without doubt, , the greatest commitment of Fundación CLC World has been the construction of the F. Cruz Dias-ADIMI Centre in Mijas. “This is our most ambitious social work, since most of its financing was possible thanks to the contribution of €1,600,000 (direct and indirect costs),” said Juan Miguel Marcos.
The Gala is a special occasion to recognise the continued support of all those present and reaffirm the Foundation’s commitment to society in general.
Our special thanks to the sponsors of the event: Galpe, Konica Minolta, BMW (Automotive), El Corte Inglés, Sánchez Valle Abogados & Asociados S.L.P, Seidor, Franjus Security, Vithas, Autos Lido, Special Needs, Román y Martos, Victoria Beers, Les Roches Marbella and Vozplus.
